The Bear Likes Pink

In the enchanted forest of Rosewood, there lived a remarkable bear named Bramble. Unlike ordinary bears, Bramble had a peculiar fascination with the color pink. Pink flowers caught his attention. Pink sunsets made him stop and stare. Even pink ribbons left behind by travelers seemed to delight him.

Then, one spring morning, he met Red.

Red was a mysterious woman who lived in a little cottage at the edge of the forest. She was known as Red because of her fiery hair, but she had another favorite color: pink. She often wore flowing pink garments that were light and translucent, shimmering in the sunlight like morning mist.

Bramble noticed her immediately. Red noticed Bramble noticing her.

She smiled. “You like pink,” she said. Bramble nodded solemnly. “And you like me?” The bear looked embarrassed, but his expression gave him away. Red laughed. “I thought so.”

From that day forward, they became companions. Red would walk through the forest in her pink clothes, and Bramble would follow happily behind her. She understood that the bear was especially attracted to pink, and she enjoyed teasing him about it.

One warm afternoon, they reached a secluded clearing surrounded by flowering trees. Red sat beneath a great oak and watched the breeze move through the branches. “I think clothes are rather silly on a day like this,” she said. Bramble tilted his head. Red laughed again. “Don’t worry, Bramble. I know you are a gentleman.”

She loosened her pink outer garment and let it fall beside her, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the freedom of the quiet clearing. Bramble respectfully turned his gaze toward the trees.

“You really are a gentleman,” Red said. After a moment, Bramble looked back. Red was smiling.

“I know what you like,” she said. “Pink.” Bramble gave a happy grunt. “And I know what I like,” Red continued. “Freedom, sunshine, and a little mischief.”

The bear settled beside her beneath the oak. Red leaned against his warm fur, and together they watched the clouds drift across the blue sky.

From then on, the villagers sometimes saw a strange sight in the forest: a woman in flowing pink and a great bear walking side by side. They called them an odd pair.

Red and Bramble didn’t care. They had discovered something better than being ordinary. They had discovered that friendship, trust, and a shared love of pink could make even the strangest friendship feel perfectly natural.
